For giving and for keeping

Box folding

A saree folded into a clean, flat presentation — the way it looks when you give it to someone, and the way it should sit in a cupboard between wearings.

Who it's for
Gifting a saree, or putting one away without creasing it.

A saree that gets bundled into a shelf comes out with creases exactly where you don’t want them, usually along the pallu. A box fold is the opposite of that: folded flat and square, with the border and pallu arranged so the good part of the saree is the part you see.

Two reasons people ask for it. Gifting — a saree handed over folded properly reads as a gift rather than as a parcel. Keeping — a saree you won’t wear for months should be put away in a fold that won’t set a crease into it.
